Meet Da Xiong, your dog of destiny. This gentle boy is waiting for you to bring him home.

"If you could only have one dog in your life, I hope Da Xiong will be the one."

Da Xiong, named not for his size or looks, but for his sweet and dopey charm—like the beloved Nobita from Doraemon. That’s what the first rescuer thought when she started feeding him.

He was TNR’d (Trap–Neuter–Return) and left in a mountainous area. Though locals and hikers say they’d never seen him before, Da Xiong quickly became a familiar face—friendly with people, kids, and fellow dogs alike. He’ll trot right up to you with a curious sniff, smile and a gentle wag.

Unfortunately, even his big heart couldn't protect him from a dangerous environment—wildlife traps, unpredictable weather, and the occasional visitor afraid of larger dogs made the mountains no place for a sweetheart like him.
We think Da Xiong deserves a permanent home.

We started with baby steps: a collar, a harness, then leashed walks—Da Xiong never resisted. The groomer who bathed him for the first time said he was a perfect gentleman. At the vet, he stayed calm through blood tests and vaccinations like a pro.

He’s since been staying with a trainer, learning to live with multiple dogs, use pee pads (still learning, so walks twice a day are best), play with all kinds of enrichment toys, and most impressively—he knows how to avoid dogs who dislike him and never snaps back. Gold star behavior. He’s also learning to stay in a pet shuttle, in case we decide to send him abroad in the future.

When we first brought Da Xiong into the city, he was scared of lots of things—like buses, scooters, and unfamiliar noises he'd never heard before. He’d freeze or try to hide. But he’s a fast learner and now handles urban noise and crowds much better. He still gets a bit tense in busy spots, but with patience, he adjusts quickly.

“ Da Xiong is incredibly friendly toward people and other dogs. A little nervous at first, but quickly curious and adaptable. A gentle soul with both energy and calm. ”
(observed by a friend who works in a dog association)

Daily care and notes:
* Waits at the door like a gentleman for walk and after walk paw wiping.
* No problem with baths, brushing, ear cleaning, toothbrushing.
* Stays calm and relaxed during vet visits.
* Food enthusiasm: He's been through hunger. May get excited around food or jump up, but he's learning to wait and doesn’t guard or fight over meals.
* Window gazing: No escape attempts, but for high floors, secure windows are a must.
* Separation stress: He’s been abandoned before. In a new home, he may bark or chew if left alone for too long. But once he settles into a routine with your love and patience—he becomes the sweetest companion.
* He is afraid of thunder. On rainy days, if left alone in a room, he can become noticeably anxious. It's best to give him access to open space or offer him a long-lasting lick toy in his pet shuttle to help soothe him. But what brings him the most comfort is simply being in the same room with you—he’ll quietly lie by your side.

If you’re one of these families, Da Xiong might just be your perfect match:
* Seniors seeking gentle company
* Families with kids needing a playmate
* Multi-dog households looking for a peaceful new member
